I'm heartened that so many Buffistas are familiar with the Barney Google song.
Me too. Although sometimes being here makes me forget what is common knowledge-- I was so confused when I found out that no one seems to know what absinthe is. I found this out when I made an "Absinthe makes the heart grow fonder joke" in front of a whole bunch of work people. So I started asking people if they know what absinthe is, and no one knows (even people who have seen Moulin Rouge! WTF?)
The Grace videos are utter joy. Thank you so much for sharing them. Making my day so far.
Suzi, your packing worked: when Brenda mentioned the box smelling I made the "bzzuh?" face, because there was absolutely no smell. Well, H claims he can smell plastic and bubble wrap, but he ain't right, anyway.
You who know me will not be surprised I started to repack the small bags by color, but I made myself stop that. I'll be swatching and culling my stuff again today and maybe tomorrow, and I should get the box back in the mail to Perkins by the end of the week.
Seriously? my mom told me about Toulouse Latrec, although she did lean rather heavily on Famous Gimps in History once the walker didn't work.
But I always run stuff by her to see how general-knowledgey it is.
Which usually leads to this.
Mom: Where do you get this crap, chica?
Me: Keith Olbermann/ b.org
Mom: well, okay, then.
Glenn Beck, Mom totally knows who Dreyfus was. And she grew up in the 'hood.Elitism fail.(Although, yes, it's heartbreakingly easy to make KO look elitist. Pretentious, moi?)
It's like saying "The United States has always been a country."
We have always been at war with Eastasia.
locked out of main system at work AGAIN! I have been emailing for help since 8am. NOTHING.
OK- I have to stop arguing on Facebook. I am not usually an arguer-- more of a "let's see if we can come to an agreement"-er, but this is really just making me see red.
On Kos, I'm a concilliator.
Like that's not scary or anything.
Yeah, Erika I totally think KO is pretentious, but not necessarily elitist. His style gets my hackles up for no rational reason. But he is totally a great journalist, and does a great job of running his show.
Sophia - he's a total DB. Eventually I had to say to him once, "Dude, you are a racist. And that's fine. I don't like it, but whatever." and take his comments from there. Kind of like talking to a toddler - what they say in the real world makes no sort of sense, but in context of them being 2, it's totally logical to them.
So I started asking people if they know what absinthe is, and no one knows (even people who have seen Moulin Rouge! WTF?)
That must have been a really confusing sequence for them!
You who know me will not be surprised I started to repack the small bags by color, but I made myself stop that.
Heheheh. I packed the bags by color. Well, I unpacked everything and put them in order by color and swatched and chose. Then there they were, in order, so when I repacked I repacked in order. But yes, this was completely predictable for me. I also ocd'd a giant pile of a hundred sharpies into order by color. You know, for fun, while I was standing around by a table with them.
