I know, world in peril and we have to work together. This is my last office romance, I'll tell you that.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

This is a HUGE FAIL on the part of Sharpie. Can you imagine how much money they're throwing away by not having their product available in time for back-to-school shopping?

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

And by making it available for review well before you can buy it in stores seems like a mistake, too.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Polish box is here, Suzi, thanks! Whoever wrapped the bottles individually and packed them in small packets is a GEENyus. It's like Christmas morning and none of the presents are labeled. "This one's--okay, that's not mine. Ooh, this is mine, this, and THIS! Not this. Oh, definitely not mine. Pretty, but I'd never wear it. Okay, MINE," and etc.

The first culling is done, swatching tomorrow, and then comparisons with close dupes, decisions and final packing to send on. Fun!

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I want one. But I dunno if I want it enough to order from Amazon. I may never get over my Amazon bias. It's such an old geek bias and that water is not just under the bridge, but it's explored the entire water table and has retired as a glacier somewhere. I was going to get over it for the Kindle, but then there was the Orwellian fiasco.

Maybe I'll see if my local art & office supply store can order it for me. I have to go in to town today anyway.

But then, surfing that review site also makes me want the awesome self-sharpening mechanical pencil too. So.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Congrats, Gris!

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Yay! I love that the polish box is still successfully making the rounds. It is the little box of joy.

I have drugstore polish on today, but I worked really hard at the application and I'm getting better! I watched youtube videos. I feel pleased with myself.

brillig

Ah, late summer in Utah, and the mountains are burning.

Weirdly reddish-orange sunlight for the next few days, and lungs that really don't want to work.

I wish I could just go somewhere to get flensed but none of the whaling ships near me take Medicare.

I've read quite a few online friends who are excited about the new Sharpie. I haven't read the specs enough to understand what it really is.

Oh yeah... I just assumed "Tino's" was a Buffista in thing that had developed in the years since I hung out here regularly. But I ran across someone else using it today. Is it some TV or film reference?

Got a ride so I could take my bike to what's supposed to be the best local bike shop. Gears need switching out. Will need new grips because I'm going off of Grip Shifters. Luckily I get a LA County Bike Coalition discount. Unluckily, I don't need unforeseen infrastructure costs right now (but better now than later).

Also taking deep breaths and possibly a nap to get over my ire at some of the deep dysfunction in my family. Also trying to put things in perspective because I could have been born into an even worse environment...

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Liese, I'm totally with you on the Amazon thing. ::sigh:: I will order from Office Depot, and one day one will arrive in the mail and I will be pleasantly surprised.
