Whoa! I... I think I'm having a thought. Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's a thought. Now I'm having a plan. Now I'm having a wiggins.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

YOU CAN LIE TO YOURSELVES, FLORIDIANS, BUT YOU CANNOT FOOL ME.

At first I was kinda insulted that my dad didn't want to stay with us, but now I'm kinda glad he is at a hotel. The visit has gone well so far, but it is nice to be able to completely slug out when he heads to his hotel.

When we got back to my apartment this evening, he complimented the place. I think he thought we were in a cramped low budget place. Compared to the area, it is low cost, but it is a fairly roomy place.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

A little beetle trivia: we don't have June bugs in Australia, but we do have other scarab beetles that are particularly active in our summer. Given the timing, we call them Christmas beetles.

Used to see them all the time growing up in Canberra. Here in Melbourne, NSM.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

I love that my dad stays in the hotel across the street when he visits. He's a very early person and I'm a very late one.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Ugh, tommyrot, how miserable. Try to get some water in you, if you can.

Get better, Buffistas.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Try to get some water in you, if you can.

Yeah, Miriam reminded me to take small sips of water. I've discovered that drinking a big glass of water all at once leads to pukies....

I'm also drinking generic Pedialite, as it's supposed to be better than Gatorade for pukies.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

When you feel up to it, bananas.

We had a decent, not great, day here. up and down and up and down. I am ready to be off this ride. At one point I just took a nap when mac wouldn't cooperate.

In an odd Pavlovian thing, bananas (eaten alone) make me feel kind of ill, because I'm so used to eating them when I feel ill.

(I don't so much have that problem when eating them with other things, like mixed in with cereal and milk or whatever)

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

How did he respond to the fact that you napped?

We skyped relatives tonight, which is always fun. And Grace giggled, which is also fun. We decided she sounds like a dolphin when she laughs.

So, you all may know, there's a pertussis epidemic this year in California. I am feeling the need to have my pertussis vaccine updated and to get Noah and Grace both a booster (Noah has an appointment already and I'll have to take Grace in mid September I think).

I get so pissed at the personal-belief-exemption people. And this epidemic is why.

I fully support the vax.

Actually I need to check and find out when I need to do mine. Really never want to go through that again.
