Oh, yeah. There was this time I was pinned down by this guy that played left tackle for varsity... Well, at least he used to before he was a vampire... Anyway, he had this really, really thick neck, and all I had was a little, little Exact-O knife ... You're not loving this story.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Here's why I can never finish my CSA stuff: Last night I didn't even have dinner, and tonight I had one ear of corn and some ice cream. Oops.

I wish I could just go somewhere to get flensed but none of the whaling ships near me take Medicare.

Gotta join that Community-Supported Ice Creamery.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

This is the best thing Paul Rudd ever did: [link] (kinda made his career, maybe)

ETA: have JGL lovers seen Brick? He's very noir in that.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I have seen Brick and The Lookout. And Mysterious Skin.

Clearly I need to see all three of those.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Have to share. Can't stop laughing. A story of Customer Service, as related to me this evening:

Stupid Customer: You overcharged me, and I want a refund. I bought two [items] and I got charged $196!

My friend Mike: Sir, [item] is $98. Each.

SC: I know that! I was charged the wrong amount! Don't you understand?

M: But, sir, two [items] at $98 each is $196.

SC: That's not right!

M (with the patience of Job): If you bought two [items] that were $100 each, that would have been $200, right? $98 is two dollars less than a hundred, so two of them is four dollars less than two hundred. Thus, $196.

SC: "Don't try to confuse me!"

M: Well, how much do you think it should be?

SC: About $120.

M: $120 would have been two $60 things. You didn't buy two $60 things. You bought two $98 things.

SC: I know that! Are you going to refund my money?

M: Well, no.

SC: I want to speak with your supervisor!

M: I AM the supervisor. I'm the manager of Marketing.

SC: Well, you're doing a terrible job! I want my money back, or I'm going to take you to court!

M: Good luck with that, sir. Enjoy paying your attorney.

Even better, SC is a wholesaler with his own business. "Don't try to confuse me!" was my favorite part.

edited for formatting, dammit

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I have a community supported ice creamery! Ok, not really, but I have a local dairy and a kitchenaid. And a husband who makes really good ice cream.

I just got back from a swim, so although it is still 78 in the house I am nice and cool. Although when I say swim, I mean paddle around and float, not swim like sarameg. But we dithered about and then went and I`m so glad we went. This was the first time I`ve used our neighborhood lake to swim and I really liked it. It was nice and clean with a rough sandy beach. I need to go out regularly and get my strength up. There were people waterskiing and people hanging out on the dock and little planes headed for the local airstrip and people walking their dogs and it was just nice.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

My math teacher heart loves that there is someone out there who would go to this as the first explanation.
