Buffistas, I need some of your famous ~ma to cheer me up. We just determined that its not possible financially for me to go home to visit this year. I have been surviving every day of homesickness by looking forward to a trip home in the fall. And now I have nothing to look forward to. I am a bit of a mess. I have a wonderful baby and a (usually) wonderful husband, but I have nothing else here and I am finding it very difficult to be happy.
Callaluna, just wanted to say I'm so sorry you're struggling to be happy right now. It can be really, really rough to move somewhere new, especially as big a move as this was for you, and it is a huge bummer that you can't go home like you'd planned. Are there things you can do for yourself that might cheer you up? Multivitamins, walks in the sunshine, reading a good book, meeting other local new moms?

All this. Plus I know that caring for a newborn can be isolating. I recommending getting out and about as much as you can.

The water here at work is off. Yesterday it was brown. Today, I washed my lunch dishes in it and it looked fine, but I splashed some on my shirt and it has left a brown stain and it reeks like pong water.

I was surprised not to see Shemar Moore on that list. He was decently well known when the show started, at least as much as Thomas Gibson, I would think.
