I own a straw fedora. Which I have worn, so far, at the beach and to a festival that's way more hippie than hipster. I still have mixed feelings about hats, though what really bugs me is the hipsters in shapkas , the Russian fur hats. I guess in the case of the fedoras, at least the culture being appropriate is at least nominally theirs (says the former bellydancer).

It looks like I won't be able to have my Thanksgiving in Vegas with my sister like I thought, so I'm thinking about scheduling a Spring Break out there next year instead. Summer would be better in terms of taking time off from work and school, but summer in Vegas is not my idea of fun!
