They laugh! Oh, my god. The comedy episodes of Supernatural are some of the funniest hour long shows I've seen in anything. Swear to god.

A guy I really liked in high school has a photo of himself and his kid on Facebook and he's wearing a hipster hat. I was sad to see it. Though he does live in NYC and work in the arts, so.
I have seen The Hat worn well. It is rare, but it can be done.
It's helpful to have the actual pedigree, but you can generally get some sense upon meeting if the hat wearer is one of the dudes being copied by the frightning, frightning, little trendoids.
