Oops. I committed Modcloth.
Sheeit.
In unrelated news, I hate being fingerprinted. But apparently I'm good at it. Yay??

Whoot! Thank you so much, lady.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, pandas, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

Is AIM acting up for anyone else?
I committed Modcloth.
Are YOU the ModCloth fairy?!

That's so odd, because my mother just told me she has to get hers redone for the school year, and they have a horrible time with her. Apparently some guy last time asked her, very honestly, if her fingers had been badly burned.
What did you buy, ita.

WHOOHOOO
For those living in major urban metroplexes who've tried to sell clothing to used and vintage places, are you finding those places are super super picky now compared to 10 years ago?
Holy carp, yes. I took a buttload of nice shoes and boots that I'd worn maybe once each to a consignment store here, and the girl *turned up her nose* and said they only wanted *current* styles. Nothing like having the shoes you thought were really nice dissed by a college girl.
I'm also finding that second-hand stores are asking a lot more for stuff than they did ten years ago. Back then, when I was making peanuts - *styrofoam* peanuts - I would buy lots of good stuff secondhand. Now? I can't find hardly anything I consider a good bargain. A secondhand shirt should not sell for more than $5, dammit. Seems like, with the economy in the dumpster, secondhand should be a more affordable option, not less. Mayne there's just more demand for it now? Hell, even garage sales aren't the source of great bargains and finds like they used to be.
Are YOU the ModCloth fairy?!
I'm the selfish ModCloth fairy, yes I am.
I guess I get fingerprinted fairly often for someone not being arrested, so I have practice. And I hate when they manhandle me through it, so I make every effort to get all the rolling done well myself.
I started doodling again in meetings. I did notice that other people doodle, but they don't draw actual pictures of people. They just do geometric stuff. Or elaborate letters. If you see someone drawing in a meeting, do you think they're not paying attention, even if they look up most of the time and make a lot of eye contact with the speakers?
I CAN'T STOP MYSELF.
Perkins, I bought the top I linked to before (last one!) and this skirt (also last, because... selfish ModClother).
I've only been fingerprinted once, in Atlanta twenty years ago. Just the right forefinger, to get a stripper license. I wonder if they still have those on file? If I ever commit a crime, I'll have to remember to wear a band-aid on that finger. Or gloves.
I want many of those ModCloth things, but then hate shopping online because I never know how it will fit, and so many things fit me funny.
I can still do OK at goodwill or Value village, but "consignment" stores and shit make me laugh--I was in one with my sister the other day and they had a shirt from Forever 21--not a fancy shirt, more like a tshirt--that had a HOLE in it (a tiny hole, but a HOLE), and they wanted $10!! I was like "fuck this noise, I'm out..."

Yes, very much so. Which is why I don't bother to sell things to those sorts of stores, and just hold sales of my own.

Oooh, I would be SO annoyed with the clerk. But I bet that's why I can't ever find any Fluevogs in consignment boutiques, dammit.
