Oh, Pacey! You blind idiot. Can't you see she doesn't love you?

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I'm a guy; I heart irony.

My pool was closed (I always assume some kid puked/pooped) and since I was still ragey from stripping, I drove up to the Towson one, and swam there. I'm not used to deep anymore, I got vaguely nervous everytime I was over in the 10 ft area. Got better, but still, funny. I've got to find out if the Parkville one will be open the first week of September; both Towson and mine are closing for maintenance.

Stopped at Target for insulin and syringes. I find it really funny the coupon machine spat out a coupon for a large starbuck's frappey drink. Because, yes, that's exactly what most purchasers of diabetes meds needs.

Anyway, just ate an empanada, boiling water to cook my sweet corn. Laundry is drying. Next up: trip to check on neighbor cat, then manicure.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I HAVE CLEANED ALL THE THINGS! Admittedly it`s two hours after my target time, but since they have yet to arrive I am calling it a win. Every room in the house is clean. Except my office, which is not that bad, and achievable next week, just not in time for company. I am woo tired, though. But it`ll be nice to have the house in good shape for the start of the school year.

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

I'm going to be travelling later this month. I'll be in:

Amsterdam from 21 August to 24 August
Oslo from 25 August to 27 August
London from 28 August to 02 September

I'm thinking seriously about taking the train from London to Paris for a day-trip, probably on the 31st.

Going to Oslo to visit my step-mother. Stopping in Amsterdam because I have a cousin who lives nearby, and it's a chance to do touristy stuff. Stopping in London because it's convenient on the way back, and a chance to do touristy stuff there too.

I'm trying not to over-plan, to stay flexible so that I can go and see and do as the whim strikes.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

Erin - sent you a message on fb.

Since we got home from Target, I put together 2 small wire shelves and washed a sink full of dishes. Now I am researching all these places nearby where kids eat free.

The status is NOT quo.

I need to clean all the things. Especially my closets (though I've made a bit of progress) and my office, which is basically random piles of crap stacked haphazardly around the room.

dcp, that's super cool! I'm jealous of your awesome trip!

I have not cleaned any of the things! ...I have a load of laundry in the dryer, and I spent $80 at the drugstore on various and sundry things (but not on any prescriptions!). And I had my last tango class, and still feel like I am very bad at tangoing. But enjoyed having a class to go to and learn, so am disappointed the salsa class is full. Grr.

msbelle, FB back atcha.

We're having a dual-birthday party Sat., so I am going to clean for about an hour each day, to avoid the dreaded all-day pre-party cleaning frenzy.

Just had a Mikulski campaign worker knock at my door. Happy to tell him I'm still a supporter. Not gonna put up a sign, though. I've never liked advertising my politics.

Just scared the crap out of Loki. I guess he didn't see me on the stairs and when I looked up, he was frozen in the bathroom doorway, inflated and eyeing me warily. Took until I called his name for him to unfreeze. And speaking of which, pretty sure Mister Kitty is pretty damned deaf now. He was standing on the bed, looking the other direction. I said his name several times, increasing to nearly a shout, and it wasn't until then he realized I was in the room. And he isn't a cat to ignore people. Poor old man. Doesn't seem to bother him much, but might explain the loud yowling he does sometimes when alone upstairs.
