I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

pie carrier

I've used hat boxes and round gift boxes packed generously around the bottom with towels as pie carriers.

I am really pretty excited about the new friends for mac and both mothers I've met thus far seeming to be level headed like minded people. am tentatively happy.

I am not at all tentative about my love for the hutch. I will take pictures later. I took pictures of all the rooms the other day - we are just over 3 weeks here - so things are done yet, but they are starting to take shape.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

That is so great to hear, msbelle.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Who was Rupert?

Rupert was the name of our steer. He is tender and delicious. We know the people who raised him so they told us his name.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

That is so awesome. We should all know the names of our food.

I loved it when we bought a cow. But it was a Navajo cow, so it didn't have a name. It ate my trees, though, open grazing, so I figured it was fair to eat it.

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

45 degree turns are loads of fun!

Yes, yes they are. Also 60 degree banks. And stalls. And lazy eights. And takeoffs. And landings. And...well, it's all pretty fun, really. It's good to hear you are enjoying it.

Getting back into it is starting to look more feasible. Maybe next year. But it's been (Holy Carp!) 15 years, I'll be starting pretty much from scratch.

Now tagless for your comfort.

I love knowing who's raising my food. Bobby's our CSA farmer and our other friends raise the cattle. Now I just need to befriend a pig farmer...

OK, maybe that's not such a good idea.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

I like the idea of knowing my food, but I fear I will be like my mother the one year we actually bought a turkey from the farm next door instead of the supermarket. My poor mother-- her brothers kept calling him "Tom" and she couldn't eat.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

I find that knowing the farmer but not the actual food is just the right amount of distance for me -- we get most of our meat from our CSA farm these days, and I definitely get kinda twitchy when the sausages don't come from a local humane named source. On the other hand, it's not like I have a longstanding relationship with Wilbur.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I hope you'll be able to return to it soonish, dcp. My cfi showed me what a stall feels like in the 172s. It wasn't nearly as scary as I'd expected. (Probably scarier when you're not at 3500 feet with plenty of recovery room.)

I don't think I've known the name of any creature I've eaten. I knew a turkey that belonged to a friend's parents who was named and eventually eaten. Sadly, I didn't get to share in that meal. The turkey tried to jump me and I was not fond of him.
