Yay, Bob!
I had ice cream for lunch and am pretty much committed to sitting on the couch most of the day. I may find other locations to lounge, we'll see.

I couldn't get to sleep til after 5 last night, slept till 2:30 and am just drinking some coffee.
Ugh.
I have a friend's bday party to go to; it starts at 5:30, but I am SO not going that early. I still have to get a gift and some snacks.
I am back from an excursion to the SF Fire Dept Credit Union where we have opened an account as we have been unhappy with Wells Fargo and their fee-happy ways. Matilda got a little stuffed dalmation.
The downtown offices of Wells have a vintage stagecoach in the lobby, but the SFFDCU has a vintage fire wagon. Totes cool!
It's right across the street from the San Francisco Jewish Community Center which features an upscale cafeteria put together by Joyce Goldstein (a famous local restaurateur).
JZ and Matilda are off to cash in Macy's gift card on a fancy dress for Matilda for the wedding we're attending next week.
I need to watch two movies I'm writing about soon, The Innocents and The Man Who Fell to Earth. Such a trial.
But maybe some more of that tasty French onion soup first.
Hello from Belgium, where we are all doing just fine (although I am pretty homesick this week). Hope all of you are well!
Tony Judt is dead. Here is a link to his NY Times obit, [link]
I think times chose this quote wisely:
“The historian’s task is not to disrupt for the sake of it, but it is to tell what is almost always an uncomfortable story and explain why the discomfort is part of the truth we need to live well and live properly,” he told Historically Speaking. “A well-organized society is one in which we know the truth about ourselves collectively, not one in which we tell pleasant lies about ourselves.”
This article in the Independent describes his race to complete his work before he died and compared into to Terry Pratchett's struggle to continue working as long as possible after his Alzheimer diagnosis. [link]
