Where'd they get CAT scan from?... I mean, did they test it on cats? Or does the machine sort of look like a cat?

Happy birthday!

So, being at UCLA this week has been cool. Each day, there are two different food trucks near the math science building. The trucks have a rotating schedule that gets posted: [link] I can't explain but I ♥ the idea of them. Yesterday was bahn mi and BBQ.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Food trucks are awesome, and a rotating schedule is also awesome. I am obsessed with the daily specials at our cafeteria, especially when they have the menu online, which they don't always. I already know that my lunch today will be California Club Wrap - grilled chicken, bacon, lettuce, tomato, and avocado ranch dressing served with side salad.

Seska! Jars! My company is talking about sending me to London for a week sometime next month. Will keep you posted as things line up.

Wahoo! Awesome! Unless it’s between the 23rd of August and the 5th of Spetember, because that’s when I’m in the States. Still awesome for you, obviously, because LONDON, BABY!

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Most--possibly all--of the conservatives on my FB feed are family members. And I suspect that they've decided I'm a closeted lesbian and don't want to make me feel bad because they love me anyway. (I heard some conversations at family get-togethers that reinforced this theory.) So they've been very quiet about Prop. 8 stuff.

It's nice in a slightly condescending, inaccurate way.

Happy birthday to Scrappy!

That looks like so much fun!

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

I could be less political on FB, but... I kind of don't care. Don't like it? Hide or defriend me. The political is personal, yo, and this is who I am.

Our wings are not tired.

One of my conservative FB friends who often posts @@ and wrongheaded stuff also has a lesbian daughter so she posts gay marriage supportive posts too. I am grateful for the opportunity to Like her posts from time to time.

I wonder if it's possible to condition people's behaviours through Liking their posts. It probably wouldn't be ethical to try...

Well, it's probably possible to condition their FB behavior that way. But possibly to distant to influence real behavior.

Though at times I do wish I could status vote things that I see in real life. Like N, a student this week, who is actively nice to each kid in the program would get a Like. People wearing jeggings (WTF?!) would get a Dislike.

Because books.

Jeggings?
