Well, then, this is a day I'll feel good to be me.

But it can be easy to self select communities where you feel safe and respected.

Seriously! A mom from the g-tube support group I'm part of friended me on FB and she is deeply conservative. She posts shit with links refuting global warming and I just CAN'T go there. Yet I do respect what she does for her daughter, even when I think she's wrongheaded crackpot material.

Not many people want to wade into the shit on their free time.

I certainly don't. And I get tired of @@ and fighting so I just avoid those places.

Plei, I'm so groggy and tired from writing about students that I think I was unclear. I was thinking of how it applies to me and how I've bunkered myself so that sometimes I lose sight that other people actually think shit that is incomprehensible. And sometimes those people vote and get a majority. And then I'm surprised. Like on Prop 8.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

My company is talking about sending me to London for a week sometime next month. Will keep you posted as things line up.

Not in the middle of the month, I hope.

I would also be happy to go in with people on the Nubar.

What is even happening?

Plei, the echo chamber is mighty. My friend on fb is a truly excellent person. I can't imagine anyone here meeting her in person and not loving her immediately. But her political opinions seem to come from the ether. I can't reconcile them with the intelligent (truly, truly) loving woman I know.

It must be extra frustrating for someone like you (I'm not misremembering, am I?) who once upon a time identified as conservative. Of course, I think both conservative and liberal outlived their useful lives, years ago.

I was a libertarian for a while. Basically, until I came to the conclusion that big business was worse than big government, because you can't vote out big business.

IOW, until I started working for The Man.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Kat, I'm so glad your father's surgery went well. Now for all of the rest of it to sort itself out...

I'm glad the conservative people I'm FB friends with (including a relative or two, I'm sure) don't feel the need to engage when I post political stuff.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Kat- that is great news about your father's surgery!

I try not to post political stuff, but sometimes I cannot help it.

Last night I dreamt about the Harry Potter characters posting about Prop 8 on Facebook!

Kat, that's great news about your dad. Yay!

Happiest of birthdays to Aims and Scrappy! With cake and lots of extra happy and spicy.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Happy Scrappy Day!!!

(Is it not Aims's birthday yet? Oops.)
