"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

So I picked up the anthology for the writing workshop/course I've been teaching at UCLA from the printers. I dropped them off at 3:00 today and had to beg them to get them prepared in time so I can give them to students tomorrow.

My students kinda worked my last nerve on trying to turn things in late and we spent two hours this morning in a computer lab on campus finishing the book.

I'm grateful that the printers were able to rush it and it certainly isn't glamorous. It is almost certainly cheap enough -- I ended up paying $66 for the whole job including covers and a spiral binding. But they didn't copy it correctly (it's not duplexed front to back) and I'm irked by that. But I'm not gonna complain given how rushed we were.

Now I'm writing the student's their evaluations.

I have had a great time teaching but I can't wait for this course to be done.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Good news about your father, Kat. I hope he picks the easiest option.

My CIO spells my name ITA. At first I thought she was shouting at me. Now I think she's probably just judging me. Hey, at least she noticed the capitalisation, and it does bother me less than iTA.

What is even happening?

At this point, you can punch them -- that is if you're talking about my people. I've never been so disappointed in my whole life.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

OMFG Greece research is kicking my ass. But I think I have a better handle on how I'm organizing all the info. Yesterday was kind of a messy infodump day, but now I have a better handle on it.

Which is good, because I landed a 2nd gig that starts tomorrow, so I will have to have great time management. Luckily, the 2nd gig involves lit mag submission guidlines -- WAY easier than the shitton of info I'm digging through for Greece and Turkey.

I'm learning a lot, though. Greek Islands for $1000, please, Alex.
