I am so damn tired. getting mac in bed, then heading to my own.

SO I wrote that last night at 8:30 and then never hit post. really was tired.

Get grr at UPS!

Remember that final project I was going to have all done by the weekend before it was due? Well, it's due tonight at 6:00, and I'm only about half-way through it after pulling an all-nighter (but I blew off working on it until 3:00 am), and even though I've taken today off of work to finish it, I have to go to the doctor's now and won't be able to get to campus to finish it until hopefully noon. Gahhhhhh!! And it's all my own lazy-ass procrastinate-y fault.

Off to Skokie, damnit. If it weren't for the fact that the next available appointment with this guy isn't until late October or November, I'd skip it, but I can't. Bleah.

They have a branch in Rochester to, and I am looking into making a donation (on of my former professors is on the board), but I wanted to see if there was any info.

The problem with getting grr at UPS is trying to get a human being on the phone who can do anything more than tell you where your package might be. (I used to be the person who told you where your package might be. That job SUCKED.) Now that you can track packages online, the CSR humans can't tell you anything more than you can find out on your own, and they can't do a damn thing to help either. Calling the local UPS center doesn't help if the package is still on the delivery truck, and if it's not on the truck it's probably on its way back to the origin. In short, UPS is kinda broken, and they don't care much because they're rich.

I am scared of the next two days at work, because my boss is already screaming, "I'm LEAVING for TWO WEEKS of VACATION, so this HAS to GET DONE." Oy. Maybe it's time to start shutting my door.

Why my friend started emailing companies that use them is because she was told by someone working at UPS, that basically they don't care if their delivery methods inconvenience/frustrate individuals they deliver to, and that the only way to get them to react is to call the big corporate client who is delivering the package...for them UPS might get off their ass and do something.

It's exactly why dealing with UPS is so rage-inducing.

My boss did not come into work yesterday...he was off buying a sailboat. I suspect he will be distracted with ocean going fantasies for the rest of the summer.

I have GOT to get off my ass and logged into work earlier in the mornings. It makes a huge difference with what I can done during the day.

An aunt and uncle are coming by tonight and my house is a disaster. I know they will understand, but I hate it. I want to bag work for the rest of the day and put things away. But then I will also want to bag on work tomorrow and so on.

Dear Proposition 8 supporters - You lost because you lied

Folks on your side, such as Maggie Gallagher of the National Organization for Marriage, the Family Research Council, and the rest of the pseudo defenders of morality will probably whine about how you all have been unfairly labeled as “bigots.” And I am sure that they will point out that every time there has been a public vote on marriage equality, the lgbt community has always lost.

But they will conveniently omit how these victories were attained. You won’t hear about how they invoked images of gay boogeymen molesting children in false ads nor will they admit to telling lies about children supposedly being taught about gay sex.

You won’t hear them admit to exploiting people’s unconscious fears and ignorance of the lgbt community in order to spin outrageous scenarios of what could happen should lgbts be allowed to marry.

And don’t be surprised by this. Those like Gallagher will never admit to the depths they stooped to win not only in California but other places like Maine.

But there is a reason why this country has checks and balances. And there is a reason why people can’t arbitrarily vote on the rights of others without having to defend this vote in the logical arena of courts, where you can’t invoke panic by proverbially yelling fire in a crowded theatre.

In the courts, you must defend your position. And in the long run, you couldn’t.
