Phew, that's a close escape, sarameg. Glad they caught it in time.

I never ever ever ever want the halon systems to go off. They'd probably destroy the archive systems. And it would be my primary responsibility to restore it from the offsite storage. And that's something I never ever ever EVER want to have to do. It is the absolute worst thing that could happen. After I finished throwing up, I'd probably need at least a week to stop the gibbering hysteria.
I've never given it much thought. Then this happened. And I swear it took me most of the afternoon to come off the adrenaline rush. And it didn't even set off alarms. And we have fire drills regularly. But those are i drills.
Shit I can't say anywhere else: boy are my in-laws boring. Worthy people, to be sure. But BO-RING. And not very helpful with the kids.
So I decided I would go ahead and upgrade my cell phone to a free phone, but there's an $18 "upgrade fee"! And shipping and bs. So my "free" phone ends up costing me almost $30. I guess I'll pass. Hmph.
But Jesse, I thought they were giving you $25 to upgrade. Has that gone by the wayside?
Oh yeah, there is that. The website doesn't know about that. OK, so it should net cost me less than $5. I guess that's OK.
I saw a humming bird in the park today!
In the last hour, I've fed the neighbor's cat, played with her (have to wait for her to finish her half cup of food) and then came back and stripped another foot of railing. Railing paint comes up a lot easier. Think it is the base varnish layer.
And turns out UPS did deliver my catfood to my neighbor. Just didn't replace the sticker. But good news since MK was down to one day's worth.
Timelies all!
Posting from our hotel room in Raleigh. Con officially starts tomorrow.
I just have a few more things to pack. I don't wanna. The whole sea of boxes is too overwhelming, and I can't focus enough to find the few things that still need to go into boxes.
