Woke up at 5, airport, went back to sleep at 8:30 and just got up.
And it was fabulous, except the in-London-touring-with-an-indie-band dream I was having at 5 am changed to in-London-having-affair-with-someone-who-turns-out-to-be-serial-killer-and-flee-to-France-with-my-cat-and-an-organizer dream when I went back to bed.
WTF, brain? Oh, well, I guess I still got to spend some time in London. Free!!
I am going to start cleaning my messy, cluttered, toy-strewn house. I am kind of excited, because I can take all the toys off the coffee table, dining room table and living room floor, and they won't be back the next day.
I enjoyed having M here, but I AM happy about the easier cleaning. The amount of dishes, laundry and clutter one kids produces seems statistically impossible.
Action has been sprung into! Laundry is done, dishwasher is done (of course it's about to be full again), groceries are bought, pesto is made, beets are boiling for borscht.
I've made two trips to CVS (one for boxes, one for more tape) and packed three boxes. I've lost count of how many boxes I have. I'm going to have to count them when I inventory them, though, which I should have been doing from the beginning, but I didn't.
Yeah, I never did that when I moved, which was probably a mistake.
I am pretty sure I told y'all that I had a spreadsheet. It wasn't complete, but it covered a lot.
I had a spreadsheet too! With a complete inventory of each box. It made unpacking so much easier.
I've managed to have a somewhat productive morning--farmer's market and safeway, done three loads of laundry (not put away yet though), tried that exercise thing I've heard so much about, and a tiny bit of work stuff.
Now though, I think it's shower/lunch/TV time before I dive into the cleaning and work stuff again.
Given my relatively small amout of stuff, my unpacking philosophy is to do it all ASAP. Like, everything out of boxes on the second day. But I would have had no idea if a box had gone missing.
