Gunn: The final score can't be rigged. I don't care how many players you grease, that last shot always comes up a question mark. But here's the thing. You never know when you're taking it. It could be when you're duking it out with the Legion of Doom, or just crossing the street deciding where to have brunch. So you just treat it like it was up to you—the world in balance—'cause you never know when it is.

Our wings are not tired.

I would have pictures of my kids, maybe, but unlikely to have pics of my siblings on hand. On my Flickr page I could find some.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I've talked about her enough that people not on my team recite back facts about her to me. Which==too much. But it's a reflex of mine, to talk a lot about my family, her especially. No one's ever asked to look, before. I certainly wasn't talking about how she looks. I only talk about her big brains and the fact that she's locked in an academic white tower.

Maybe it's an incipient love match... [[scrubs brain]]

She has at least one picture of me in her wallet. So I figure the least I can do is have a picture of her on my phone. And I had to go by pictures of my parents to get there, so it felt mean not to click and save them too.

Still, I've never put up a family picture in a cubicle, and that's not happening any time soon.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I have a picture of my father on my phone because I didn't think to bring my camera when I saw him perform last year, but that's about it.

Waiting for the vet to call to go pick up Mister Kitty. Gonna be a later pool night, I think.

I have to haul my trash around to the front. Going to be a pain because I will not carry the trash through the house and I'm smack in the middle of the block.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

I've got family photos on my desk here at work, and my cat is the wallpaper of my work computer.

My next show is called A True History of the Johnstown Flood.

This made me remember the time in my college drama class when we had to act out the Johnstown flood for an improv exercise. Very bizarre.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Poor Canada. All their news sites are filled with hand-wringing about their poor Olympic showing.

Just one example:

*****

VANCOUVER — It has been written before — and it's a horrible disservice to the 160 or so Canadian athletes who aren't competing here with hockey sticks in their hands — but there's a certain amount of truth to it:

Win the Olympic men's hockey gold medal, and Canadians will quickly forget whether the sliders and skiers and skaters owned the podium or, actually, what that oddly confident-sounding phrase was all about.

But get taken to the woodshed by the Americans on pretty much every Olympic Games venue for 10 solid days, and then fail to stop the bleeding against Team USA at Canada Hockey Place — at the end of a sad, dispiriting weekend in which our Own The Podium aspirations were officially rendered null and void — and it would be difficult to pick the national chin off the floor for these last seven days.

And so it will.

Are the Olympics done yet? Is TV back?

No, but I'd take Aldis Hodge in one.
