On my seventh birthday, I wanted a toy fire truck, and I didn't get it, and you were real nice about it, and then the house next door burnt down, and then real firetrucks came, and for years I thought you set the fire for me. And if you did, you can tell me!

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

no you may not, you may ask an LAista if they have a nice old fashioned type book for you to borrow. You will not make your over-budget situation any better by spending more.

as for the bra, honestly, I'd return what you have and see if you can get something cheaper because of the budget.

Apart from sports, "my secret favorite thing on earth is ketchup. I will put ketchup on anything. But it has to be Heinz." - my husband, Michael Vartan

Wow, you are harsh. And a total buzzkill. Want to buy me an ebook to make up for being so mean? (Kidding...just to be clear.)

For what it's worth, the bra was bought with a gift card. And because it is the law with gift cards, I bought something fun, and not something responsible. (Although I did fudge the law a little because I had two Visa gift cards, and I used the other one for paying part of the AT&T bill.) But they don't have pink in my size, so they sent me green to try it for fit, but I'm thinking I might just go up a size so that I can fulfill my dream of having a cute hot pink sports bra. You'd be surprised how hard those are to find. I've been looking for years. So it makes sense that my size is sold out now that I've located one. They are really rare.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

My girl-cat is complaining loudly about something? What is bothering her?

Oh, mine was bitching her head off a few hours ago. She's now developed a new vocalization that is more of a "meo-wooooh" than her standard "MRRW!" That was more of a utterance than a demand, but she just laid between the coffee table and the tv stand, making that meo-woooooh noise which I promptly made back at her. She's now sitting in the chair next to the computer desk, zoning out.

A lot of these bobsledders just started a few years ago, even a bunch of the ones from countries with pretty big teams. Are there many other sports where you could be in the Olympics just a few years after you started training?

I remember back in the '80s when a Chicago Bear (I want to say Willie Gault?) got onto the US bobsledding team--guess they needed a small guy with loads of speed for the starting push.

I am at Denny's in Oak Park.

I remember hanging out there about twenty years ago, when my sister and I had an apartment in River Forest. Hope that they cleaned it up--it was a real dive back then.

I got fucking GOLD with my new 'hood. I'm still amazed. I sent a letter to my council rep, extolling the virtues from the storms. She told me I made her day. Love it.

I found home. And all I did was fall in love with a building. I wish it on everyone.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

well, I can't really explain it without possibly spoiling you for the ending.

Point well taken.

I'm impressed with how well they've extended the premise so far.

I was just skimming WX because I know I'd seen discussion of it somewhere, and there's a fair bit of "but what has Tim Hutton done lately?" in the 2008 discussion. I want to jump into a (non-hot-tub) time machine and shower Leverage love on the discussion. He was nominated for a Prism award (they seem to focus on substance abuse and mental health issues in entertainment) for the first season detox episode. I bet John Rogers never saw that coming.

For what it's worth, my girl-cat is currently alternating yelling at my giant bookshelf and looking at me. It's possible she might be trying to tell me something.

Also, I owe the library $11 due to some unfortunate due date timing that coincided with my car getting fixed after my accident last August. Plus you have to pay for parking. Also also, they're closed right now.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Well, msbelle, at least you had the preceding smooth days. That`s something anyway. I am super excited about your new house and hope you talk about it lots.

My house that likes carrots is not so awesome right now. It all smells like smoke and everything is covered in ash from the 40mph winds that presaged today`s snowstorm. It made my woodstove backdraft bad. So now I`m trying to let the fire go out. I want to stoke it, but think it will cause more smoke, which we don`t need right now, especially with D`s cold.

And there was a problem with the bass cable during the gig tonight so he`s miffed anyway. And he got hit on by a twenty-something. Hee.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I feel like we should all send Alibelle a book so she stays on budget.

Day: 1, me: 0

Yeah, but Isaac is plus one on Power miners.

Books are my weakness! Also possibly the Olympics. And kittens.

I have a lot of weaknesses.
