Well, quite a lot of fuss. If I didn't know better, I'd think we were dangerous.

It must be West Coast, because I have the cranky too.

Did I mention I had ricotta on bread for dinner? Something's clearly wrong.

Maybe it's Olympic fever.

I have a headache that has LA written all over it. Well, LA and crappy poorly planned lessons that I'm pulling out of my butt.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

thank you, megan. I shall have to try out some new recipes.

As for a social life, I'd like it if more of mine was less focused on my kids.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Yeah, I think we have the opposite problem, Burrell. We don't have kids and pretty much everyone in our demographic does, so we just don't have people to hang with because their social lives do revolve around their kids.

In fact, we kinda went from hanging out with singles (we were more or less the first married out of our group) to couples before they had kids to now empty nesters. Which, okay, he's 40 and I'm 34, but we're not empty nesters. So, it's weird. It means we mostly hang with people who are not our demographic. Like his two buddies, who are early twenties, just out of school, single, trying to figure out their future. We're good mentors for people like that, but it's a different social dynamic.

I kinda relate to the whole Marshall/Lily couples dating thing. Sadly. Although now that I think about it, I probably relate to Lily way more than is good.

(eta: Anyway. I'm going to check on the SO and take a Midol and stoke the fire and watch Leverage. So I should be feeling marginally better shortly.)

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Leverage is ♥ tonight. Great way to wrap up a season and leave you hungry for more.

I hope you feel better.

Because books.

Liese, I totally miss that "just drop in and hang out" thing.

We stayed in the town we went to high school in after we got married, and a lot of friends did, too. Even after we had Jake, friends would show up on a Saturday afternoon, or we could decide last minute to go to the mall, and just hang around on a Friday night watching X-Files and having a beer.

I miss that desperately, I really do.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Thanks, megan!

My crankiness is low-level, but my introversion is high.

Oh, man, Olympics. Ouch.

Your crockpot (slowly) brings all the lurkers to the board?

I think I may have to tag this, despite the earworm.

Liese, I've got some houses for sale on my street. We're not total drop-ins, we email or call first, but... Cranky here, but I've got the weather and roads and insanity.

I love that another neighbor has called me from the road 2 nights in a row to vent.

God, i love my hood.

Gotta go to bed now.

I have tried some of megan's recipes and YUM. CJ really likes the pulled pork. I have a small crock pot and wish I could find a small cut of corned beef.

The cranky extends to Colorado.
