"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Happy Mardi Gras, y'all!

I really wish I was home right now.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Happy Mardi Gras!

I haven't been in my office since Wednesday. I am a little afraid of the paperwork that's been collecting, even before I get there.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I really have to get cracking on a couple of projects today. Things need to Get Done this week, and it's already Tuesday, and I'm leaving midday Thursday. Oops.

Also, I realized that I should not go see a friend's new baby empty-handed, so I have to remember to go shopping tomorrow!

Can you ID the music the last couple used for me, megan? It's just on the edge of my memory but I can't quite place it.

It's Albinoni's "Adagio in G Minor", one of those sad adagios that seems to be used in everything, you might know it from Gallipoli. I actually have Ascot Man to thank for knowing the music--he was a composer and film critic and made mix tapes of film scores for me, including the adagio and Out of Africa music used last night. (This made be why I hated it.)

It took me 40 minutes to get to work today. I live less than 2 miles away.

The city, in its infinite wisdom, decided to go ahead with road construction that completely closes down 39th, a main route from NE. When no side streets are plowed, and the alternate routes, a nightmare under the best circumstances, are down to one lane each way. CITY FAIL.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Huh. I didn't realize New Orleans king cake was more like a bread.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

Has anyone ever used glow gaff tape? Does it actually work?

I've got a list of stuff to source for the theatre. The list for lights scares me a little.
