I LOVE THIS
Excellent.
The POTUS neighbor is back home. I like this since I feel that if anything goes terribly wrong (did I mention there's a gas leak out by the street?) he would know who to call to get results.
One more nanny comment: Mine called last night to see how I was doing (she knows my DH is away) and to tell me she was sending her son and his friends over today to shovel me out. I love my nanny.
Bo is terrifically cute. My dog loves the snow, also, but I can't let her outside without supervision at the moment because the piles of the stuff are so high that she can literally walk over our fence and down the other side. I hope my neighbor will watch the baby today so I can get her down to the park for an hour.
eta: And my cousin who lives in Vancouver wrote to say he has Olympic hockey tickets (quarterfinals). I'm jealous.
This insomnia will be the death of me. I've been up for hours.
Ugh, ita. I hope you get some rest, soon.
The nanny's peeps showed up at 8 a.m., and they are digging me out. The dog will not stop barking at them, unless I open the door. Then she runs and hides.
mac off to school with no issues, me to work. a few icy patches on the walk to the subway, but I remained on my feet. AND the good news thus far, because I made it in yesterday, I get a comp day! WHOOT! I just need to tell my boss when I want it. I may want it tomorrow.
actually beginning of vacation, so it would give me a day to really clean up the house. We are having it painted while we are in Texas, so getting things put away and a few more things off the walls would be good for the painter. I bet if I tried I could fit a good amount of stuff down in the storage unit still.
have I asked here if anyone would want to buy my vintage turquoise clothes dryer?
So after embarrassing themselves by nominating and electing a sleazebag in the lt. governor primary, the proposal now on the table is to just scrap the whole Lt. Gov position entirely. Oh Illinois, never change.
Timelies all!
Today we dig the cars out again. At least the snow's not as deep this time...

That's awesome. "If this guy didn't work out, how will we ever find anyone else??"
I think NYC went through a thing in the last year or so about completely eliminating an elected position also. Public Advocate maybe?
