Man, today is a weird day. We had an earthquake and travel to the office this morning was utter crap, but I was way more social at work than usual, and I got a good review and came up with an interesting project for myself for this quarter while I met with my manager. There's the possibility of serious monies coming my way next month. I got a very good deal on three pairs of designer jeans that actually fit me.

I'm tired, gashed my finger on a shoe box, and I still need to make dinner, but overall I'm calling it a win.

Oh man oh man oh man! The therapist sounds like a tool, sparky!

I had a doc visit yesterday. I left an hour early and still was marked no show because I missed my appointment by more than 15 minutes. They still saw me because no person in their right minds was out in the rain.

I learned that my neck pain is actually a recurrent cervical disc injury and that the solution is physical therapy. Luckily the in house therapist also had a cancellation and could see me right then.

Sigh. Fun? The worst part of the visit was being told that the Flexeril isn't really helping me.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

The worst part of the visit was being told that the Flexeril isn't really helping me.

I need a pain management re-assessment too. It bites.

I spent today in the foetal position, but that wasn't primarily migraine's fault. Cramps, but any pain triggers the migraine. And heating pads and Aleve just not cutting it. First sick day, and I'm not happy about it.

Bo is adorable.

Pain management is a giant bite in the ass.

He basically told me that Flexeril is only good for helping me sleep. I wanted to say, "Dude, don't knock that as a benefit!"

In dumbest thing someone said to me today, after telling my students I'd be gone Tuesday because I was going to the Olympics one kid said, "Are you in the Olympics?" I laughed long and hard and he said, "there's no reason to be sarcastic." I had to explain I was generally laughing because the thought of me in the Olympics is LUDICROUS.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I realize the average viewer of Spike is not a PhD, but is it really necessary to go into detail explaining that death is a consequence of the decapitation they just showed in gorymation? There aren't people who believe that the bodiless heads of accident victims are out there drawing disability and receiving outpatient care, are there?
