I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

My dishwasher is for shit -- it especially can't clean anything at all greasy. Like my butter knife, say. But maybe that's the store brand detergent I've been putting in it? Unclear.

Our old dishwasher used to do that, it was that the water wasn't hot enough. With our new dishwasher, though, it gets plenty hot. I almost cried with joy the first time I unloaded the dishes from that thing.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

I probably run my dishwasher about twice a month. Usually because I'm already washing pots from cooking, so I might as well was most everything else. I've been trying to use the dishwasher more, as my BFF's mom told me that her friend didn't use her dishwasher and the seals dried and cracked, so that when she did use it, it leaked.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Huh. I know sometimes my water in general takes a long time to heat up, so many I should be more strategic with the timing.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

How much have you gotten? It's coming down a little harder here, but nothing has accumulated.

We've got about this much:

Hard to judge accumulation with this much wind, but at least 6-8" so far and it's supposed to keep snowing until about midnight.

Art Crawl!!!

The nanny thing is ridiculous. If her kid(s) were in Daycare she would have to pay anyway unless she gave them a huge amount of notice.

Perhaps she and the nanny need to negotiate a "snow day" policy.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I should probably take advantage of the snow day and do laundry, but I really don't feel like it.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

The whole let's-not-pay nanny thing is making my eyes roll a disturbing amount, especially considering I have no skin in the game. Aren't the nannies watching the most important parts of these parents' lives? Maybe they should be treated, and paid, accordingly?

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Aren't the nannies watching the most important parts of these parents' lives? Maybe they should be treated, and paid, accordingly?

And teachers and tutors and librarians and and and ...

Trust my rage

And, unless you as the parent don't get paid for snow days, it's not like you are losing any extra money. re the parents complaining about themselves being unjustly enriched? I doubt it.
