Shit's all sorts of different now.

I have an odd question suited for the Hivemind. Is it wierd to ask someone during the course of a conversation about goals and work and such if they plan on going further in their career? Like, would it be wierd to say (since it's on topic), "Smonster, I know you really enjoy your work in recycling and reducing waste. Is being a sustainability manager for a city or the like something you are interested in?"

I ask because I remember hearing somewhere (probably my own ass) that is was impolite and insulting to imply that the other person should do "more".

Does any of that make sense? I may have Snow Brain.

Always Anti-fascist!

I think anyplace would be better than here, but then I think of the snow...it's just cloudy as fuck here. Might rain.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Tempeh wings are yum. Fingers are slightly burned from picking up pan without potholder.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I ask because I remember hearing somewhere (probably my own ass) that is was impolite and insulting to imply that the other person should do "more".

I would imagine there's a difference between, "Don't you want a promotion???" and "Is that something you're interested in?"

I find serious conversations about work with friends to be super-interesting and informative, myself.

Same here. Like, I would LOVE to know if smonster wants to become the Official Boss of the Recycling Universe, but something always stops me from asking because of that (probably fictional) niggling in my brane that it's rude.

Because books.

I agree, Aims. An open-ended, friendly conversation about interests seems like it would always be okay.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Welcome back, Corwood!
