Thanks to all the tax talk here, I have been trying to research a post-divorce issue. When we used to file jointly KCD's name was listed first so most tax documents we got have his SSN listed. Now, I don't know if that means he has to report the forms we have on his return or if I can report them on my return. It is a mix of income (interest from a previous joint account) and deduction (final mortgage interest paid). So far I haven't found anything on the IRS pages that addresses this issue.

I've used Turbo Tax for year and have been pleased. I worked for H&R Block for 2 tax seasons - wow - 20 years ago (K-Bug was born during my first season).

I'm pretty sure KCD is going to ask if I'll do his taxes for him this year. He has never done them and since I have to figure out how to split stuff out anyway.... Will cross that bridge when it comes.

I am a big proponent of doing one's taxes oneself, but, Suzi, this seems one of those times you really should use an accountant.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I'm a fan of accountants. This year I'll have my regular taxes, taxes on some freelance work I did, and all the tax stuff for Dad's two months in 2009 and his estate. Even if I were willing to just wing it on my own taxes, I'm responsible for the estate for both myself and my sister. So I'm getting a pro for the whole shebang.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

We had a good day here even though we just stuck around the house doing chores or running errands. And yet? Kids played all day and everyone was in a good mood.

Saturday night and I'm ready for bed. It isn't even 9pm yet. Pathetic.

Punishingly Intricate

I use an accountant. He is great and saves me money and headaches.

We walked up to the Avenue, the street with the stores and restaurants in our hood, and ran into the new mayor. Kind of blew Bob's mind. Bmore is such a small town!

The sidewalks on my block were cleared pretty early. I'm not sure the street ever will be.
