Every planet has its own weird customs. About a year before we met, I spent six weeks on a moon where the principal form of recreation was juggling geese. My hand to God. Baby geese. Goslings. They were juggled.

Thanks, Vortex! We're working on this big 30th anniversary thing, and we're finding a ton of nifty photos from when the organization began. I hope we'll have a chance to put a lot of them up.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Very nice, Calli!

I kind of miss nurse's caps, especially when each school had their own style.

Follow up on the Cheetah story:

A couple commenters posted a link to the full series of photographs. It looks like (brace yourselves) the Daily Mail made the story up and (again, brace) the cheetahs actually ate the baby impala after all. Photos (at least, the pre-death ones) are still cute, though. And The Tawny Scrawny Lion is still an awesome book.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Daily Mail made the story up

D'oh!
