Good luck, bon. With both the foot and old friend.

Loki's positively drunk on heat. He'd sprawled across the covered radiator in the front room, and I went to pet him and he squeaked and positively lolled. Devi is the same way when she's up there. I totally get it, which is why earlier I'd been lying on the floor in the middle room with my feet up on the radiator there...

Some random thing sparked a memory of the drive from Kathmandu to the ...suburbs? Anyway, it was just so random in this snowy day, it's really stuck in my head. Tuk-tuks and the crazy traffic and cows and dogs sleeping in the middle of it and the exhaust choking you and the flirty banter and somehow it became familiar and yet foreign and my goodness, I miss it. Every since I've been back, I've eschewed coffee for trying to find the spiced tea (chai) I enjoyed at every seller who I entertained. Coming close, but still not quite the right mix.

Connie, how would it be labelled?

It's called "sea salt" around here, but that's not a good name. "Redmond sea salt" would be the full name.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Emmett quote of the note, while juggling a lime, lemon and apple: "I'm awesome at ill-proportioned fruit!"

re: salt again

I think the Hawaiian or Peruvian red/pink salts look the closest.

What's amusing about the Utah salt is that it's primarily used for road salt around here, because no one could think of a way to make money off of it, until a local company thought of marketing it as gourmet salt. 'Cause nobody wants pink salt, do they?

bon,

I'm hoping maybe to make San Diego in June...we'll see. Sigh.

We're entering the lottery as a group (well, me, K, Grace's OT and her PT) for the Woman's Marathon is SF in October if you are interested in joining.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

bon, I hope you're healed up for San Diego.

Kat, speaking of things you are doing, Colin is going to be at the Winter Olympics too. Not at your event, though, I don't think.

He's going on NBC Universal's dime, the bastard. They're even kitting him out.

I don't get how someone could put this up as "beauty of the day". It has to be a photoshop job.

eta: msbelle, damn. I hope you can cancel or return the last bit too.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Oh, msbelle, damn. I'd be livid (and also stunned that a kid his age could navigate through the purchase process). Damn damn damn.

sarameg - Jan 30, 2010 5:36:54 pm PST #5141 of 30001

Oh msbelle, that's gotta suck. Time to password protect and sit over his shoulder during computer time, alas. My friend had some sort of monitoring/blocking system set up when her stepson was doing online classes. If you want, I can find out what that was.

Well, yay! I doubt I'll see Colin and then I think, would he remember me out of context anyway?

Oh msbelle, that sucks in a big giant way. I'm sorry.

I had half of the academic decathlon today and I had kids I've taught on three different teams all competing. It was a little odd.
