Yes, it's terribly simple. The good guys are always stalwart and true, the bad guys are easily distinguished by their pointy horns or black hats, and, uh, we always defeat them and save the day. No one ever dies, and everybody lives happily ever after.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Yep. I think I have to go lie down with Noah to get him to nap.

It was a nice party. Mimosas for adults and madeleines for kids. Plus potato balls and guava and cheese strudels from Portos, french toast casserole, truly mediocre cupcakes, fruit salad and a plate of fancy desserts that included a mango mousse that Grace ate two bites of (!! -- not without major coaxing and forcing but still!!), coronets, cream puffs and fruit tarts.

We had several kids ranging in age from 2 to 8. Lots of fun.

Compassionately intolerant

Hm. Tomatoes are not on any of the lists I use with my doggy clients. They ARE acidic and can cause stomach upset, but they aren't actually toxic. The tomato plant should be avoided, but they are so bitter, I can't imagine a dog eating the vine.

Foods that ARE toxic, and are much worse than chocolate: grapes, raisins, macadamia nuts, onions, walnuts and avocados.

I know a lot of dogs eat avocados with impunity but I would not recommend testing your dog with them.

I was just reading this post on Jezebel about teen musical idols and realizing that I was in a spot that was too young for New Edition and too old for Joey Lawrence and NKOTB. The music of my 5th - 8th(1983-1987 )(is that the time when you like boybands?) was Michael Jackson/Madonna/Cydi Lauper dominated IIRC. Am I crazy?

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

We have driven to Westchester Co. loaded up a Honda Element with boxes from storage and I am halfway through unloading it. Mac is not so much with the helping and I can only carry one of the large bins at a time with the granny cart. I think 5 more loads. am tired. beer for dinner.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I love hearing stories where Grace eats. Cool.

I had set myself the task of picking up my dry cleaning today.

So far, no go. Outside seems so very far away.

Nice. Now I've bought a dress!

I just remembered our "boy bands"- Duran Duran and Wham! and Tears for Fears. I was too busy having a crush on William Devane on Knots Landing (I was a strange tween)

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

We used to call our dog "Hoover". None of you met Honey, she was the sweetest Australian Shephard/Collie mix. I posted a pic of K-Bug, as a baby, pulling on a dog's tail. That was Honey. She let the kids climb on her, pull her fur, and would play tug at a very low level with them while when she played with me if felt like she was trying to pull my arm out of the socket.

K-Bug is 20 years old today. I am back to having just one teenager. I feel like such a lucky mom to have two wonderful kids. Not being with her for her birthday is tough though. She is coming out here Tuesday night and I can't wait to spoil her rotten.
