To commemorate a past event, you kill and eat an animal. It's a ritual sacrifice, with pie.

I haven't been out yet, but the thing about this storm was that there was SO MUCH water standing around by yesterday afternoon, that my guess is a lot of places have a foot of snow over a sheet of fairly thick ice depending on how cold it got last night. Water was an inch deep on some sidewalks in my hood. The drains were blocked with slush so water at the corners and curbs was just sitting and flowing onto the sidewalks.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

I forgot to say that it is so exciting that Grace is coming home! Yay! By the way, I am not sure that I have ever expressed how much I love the name grace-- so simple and beautiful.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Yay Grace!

msbelle, I wish you luck with the DS thing.

I think I had more to say but it's gone. TGIF, yo.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

We got no snow, yay, but we've had really strong wind since yesterday evening. I have to leave the house to get food and drugs. Dammit, I want a minion.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I just found a mass of clothes for dry cleaning that I'd stashed on a high shelf in my closet. I thought that bag was full of stuff that needed repairing. All of it had been there since my last job, so it's like getting new clothes.

And proof that I may just have too much.

The actual dry cleaning bill is going to be a bit steep.

FRIDAY.

I was supposed to log into the work VPN last night to check the status of a job and I didn't and now that I check it this morning it hasn't been done. Fark. I have the guy's personal cell--I guess I have to call it, despite my aversion to such.

I've seen links to this new site in several blogs, so in case this turns into a hot new internet meme, I'm posting it here:

hip deep in pie

in Salem we were getting hammered with 50+ mph winds. The house I live in was shaking, it was so windy. This morning I saw that the fence in the back yard had blown partially down as well (and a couple more like it on the way to the train). Only rain, though; no snow.

We totally had the same weather. It took me a long time to fall asleep because of the wind.

This is only the 4th snow day for NYCPS in 6 years!. I am trying to find out the last time we had 2 snow days in a year, but am failing. maybe one of you has stronger google-fu.

I had planned to take today anyway, but with mac home the day is different. I don't want to do anything with him because I am so upset about yesterday, disappointment is hard to hide and overcome. I have explained that I am not mad at him, but I am upset by the situation because I have no idea what we will do for afterschool care. I have someone who can pick him up 2 days a week, but that is it.

“Not dead yet!”

(Although I'm afraid that Carmen must join "Love Story", Phantom, and "The Impossible Dream" on the "Be Original Already" list.

Romeo & Juliet, Paganini's Eighteenth Variation and Piano Concerto No. 2, Ave Maria, Firebird, Swan Lake, American in Paris and/or Rhapsody in Blue.

Those are also some of the worst offenders along with the aforementioned selections.
