Aren't monks responsible for some liquors? Chartreuse, I think, and probably others. Go team drunk monk!
We can thank Benedictine monks in France for sparkling wines.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, pandas, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

Dom Perignon!
ETA: Benedictine x-post!
I can't do beer to this day after a bad incident when I was 16 or 17. Maybe once a year I try one, but that is about it.
Whiskey for me, please.
Weekend plans should include deep cleaning the house, baking cookies, 3 hours of karate, and getting as much sleep as possible. I have a feeling the last thing on the list will negate the others.
I like SoCo and Dr. Pepper. Or sometimes Yukon Jack & Dr. I haven't done that in a long time though.
My aunt just left me a random chatspeak comment on a baby picture telling me I was a loving baby. Which flies in the face of every piece of family mythology my mother shares with me.
Maybe she's been drinking.
My weekend plans include a Pampered Chef party and some committee work. Maybe some cleaning.
Oh, and NO Schnapps. OMG. My 21st birthday had friends buying me Butterscotch Schanpps. Try saying that after you have had a shot or two. That coupled with a friend who would buy every flavor of Schnapps available...oh heck no.
My weekend plans are minimal, which is awesome. I have to clean and laundry and etc., after being gone last weekend. I have family dinner Sunday, and will probably end up doing something with a friend at some point, but maybe not.
I'll be heading out of town to visit an old friend this weekend. Which means tonight will involve laundry and minor packing.
My weekend plans are installing a car radio, fixing a treadmill (again), baking some cookies with the kids, and hopefully doing some writing.
