Punishingly Intricate

Who was Fast Eddie here? Or was he Gus?

That's what I'm thinking.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

If there was a Fast Eddie here distinct from Gus, they were puppeting under another name.

I hope Casper is feeling better soon!

if you're ever in a group with deadweight (I should say when you are), don't be afraid to steamroll. Better to end up with a good project than be a good team player, sometimes.

One of the first things that they mentioned to us in last week's professional panel discussion was that our classmates were going to be our first level of library contacts and that we would more than likely be sharing classes with people on a regular basis over the year(s) of acquiring our degrees. I have to make sure I don't get a reputation as a pushy know-it-all.

But, you're right about getting things done when they have to be. I remember my first interview here at my company back in 1992, when my manager, who is a pretty quiet woman, was being a bit hesitant during the interview. I instinctively took over the interview and just started chatting with the info most interviewers want to know dropped in without waiting for her to ask the questions. I guess she didn't mind since she not only hired me then, but hired me again for my current position.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

I don't remember the creation of TV Tropes involving any other buffista, certainly not two more who had known Gus for decades, and who were there since Salon. The whole story is false, I'm saying.

information libertarian

Gus, in fact, was not with us at Salon (at least not posting). He delurked rather memorably at the Phoenix, IIRC, from a bar, where he was singing Daniel's Freedom Fries song.

The way that article was written, I got the impression that Fast Eddie/Gus/Janitor/whomever was a major part of the group that formed our website here. IIRC, Gus didn't show up until a few years after we launched.

numerous physical changes to submarines would have to be made

...I don't get it. Why? I mean...how do women access a submarine different from men? Or is it that the men on a submarine don't ...have a bathroom with a door? I'm assuming they have at least one regular toilet that is not a urinal, since men have to shit too. So, that's out. Showers? Only one shower...area? They can't just say "OK, the girl is in the shower now, wait til she's out"? Do the men all sleep in one bunk area? And so they'll have to give women and men space to change clothes? ...I'm really failing to see how this rises to the level of "numerous". Or maybe I'm just assuming that men and women can work together and deal with the differences in their bodies for a little while without freaking out, by being adults. Maybe. Um. ?

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Am I wrong in wanting more drama from a former member of this community going on a major sci-fi portal and pretending to have invented it?

Sorry, my primary motto is "Keep the drama on stage."

From a purely factual point of view, I'm pretty certain that Gus joined this community shortly after I did. Which was not in the beginning. I know nothing of Fast Eddie.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

OMG, ita is Gus. Or maybe Jesse.
