I just called and rescheduled my surgery follow up appointment for tomorrow. The weather is supposed to be NASTY and the surgeon's office is a 45 minute drive for me. I'm hoping it doesn't get as bad as they're predicting but I decided not to chance it.

Day 2 of my stay in the frozen tundra: Put on festive Christmas socks today in an attempt to inject some holiday cheer and warmth into my sad, cold life. Today was an interesting exercise in slipping and sliding on the road, combined with having cars in the next lane kicking up snow onto my windshield when they changed lanes to get around me because I was allowing a little extra space between me and the person in front of me, due to conditions.
Oh, well, at least I got my stop at Target out of the way early (picked up the new Glee soundtrack and Harry Potter as well as Julie&Julia for my dvd shelf). I'm going to call my boss and see if I can take two hours of pto at the end of the day and go home at 4:00, before the snow is supposed to really kick in. Up here in the NW 'burbs, we're supposed to get between 4-8 inches of additional snow over the 2 we already have.

Dude, I am so glad you set yourself up to get paid consulting fees. They are a mess.
My current work mess? Person who has been out for over a month for medical reasons is back today and before checking with me started sending out emails for stuff that has already been cleared up in her absense. DUDE! Just cause the stuff is still on your desk does not mean that no one did anything. CHECK IN FIRST. She is not in my department so I had no idea she was back.
