Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I think there's been stuff (and I'm not sure specifically about the Episcopals) that you could be openly gay if you were celibate -- hating the sin, etc.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I found this really interesting - maybe a few people here will also....

Impotent futurism: the design of Allende's cyber-utopian boondoggle

Greg Borenstein sez, "This is a video version of a paper I delivered with Jem Axelrod at the 2009 PAMLA Conference about Project Cybersyn, an early 70s socialist pseudo-internet built by British cyberneticist Stafford Beer in Chile. The video explores how Beer's writing, infographics, and industrial design worked together to create a science fictional narrative of omniscience and ominpotence for Salvador Allende's socialist government."

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Does cyborg Salvadore Allende get killed by a cyborg Henry Kissinger?

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Oh, Cash, what a sucktastic day for you. All of last night's talk about patties made me wake up and make a dozen of beef patties of my own. But without the yummy flake of the crust (though mine is just pie crust) and with a sliver of cheese in each. OH LORD. All my food should be in pie form.

We went to the Aquarium. Noah's favorite animal on exhibit remains the scuba divers who feed or clean tanks.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Six years after the Episcopal Church exploded in dissension over the election of the nation's first actively gay bishop, The Rev. V. Gene Robinson of New Hampshire, the Diocese of Los Angeles has elected a second.

What Jesse said. I'm pretty sure Gene Robinson is "married". (Scare quotes sadly intentional.)

It sounds like it - during the CIA-sponsored coupe on 9/11/73.

Also, the term 'cybernetics' seems to have fallen out of favor a few decades ago....

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Ah, glad to know it was my misread and not bad writing. Thanks. Having a hive mind rocks much of the time.

We went to the Aquarium. Noah's favorite animal on exhibit remains the scuba divers who feed or clean tanks.

I was about to support Noah but then I wondered if I can support someone who doesn't flail over otters. Otters, little man, otters.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Otters rock.

I'm watching My Big Breasts and Me on BBC America. I didn't know if I could be more glad about my reduction, but I am.

Cash, that's one rough day.

So despite hating mornings still, today was pretty darn good. lisah fed me a sweet potato curry and I liked it. I'm having to rethink my stand on sweet potatoes. But I still don't like sweet potato pie or anything sweet. Got to see the hilariously Baltimore Xmas parade with good company. The kids were adorable. Watching a parade with toddlers makes it 100 times more fun! They are so random.

Followed up with an epic awesome swim and now I am having a honeycrisp apple and pumpkin bread for dinner.

And tomorrow, I am NOT going to work. Ok, so I'm having 2 temp crowns put in, so not fun, but I'm going to cook and clean and swim and shop. I hope.
