Separate covers are the key to my marriage. His body temperature is completely frelled because of all the drugs he's on, so he's either under a pile or one sheet. I'm sleeping under the quilt my grandma made for me when I was little--it's got my name on it and everything. I've been known to wake up from a sound sleep if one foot has crept out from underneath. Feet are weird.

I had a nightmare the other night that something (like a ghost?) was oppressing my chest, and I was really annoyed by it. Woke up to find Immanuel Kat was still sleeping peacefully on my chest.
He just tripped right now running after a straw! Ah, cats.
I'm wearing thick boot socks plus heavy wool socks and my toes are still cold. Most of my body can maintain heat with enough covers, but my hands and feet have to be in contact with something warm.
ION I feel like hell. Which is an improvement over how I've felt since around 8am.
The live coverage of the NYS Senate debate on gay marriage is here: [link] (Very *very* choppy - I think I'm only hearing about half of what's being said.)
Liveblog here.
Now that the heat is working in my building again, I almost always kick the covers off around midnight because I'm too warm.
God, I miss my perpetually overheated apartment.

Sock Audit:
Me - I wear them to bed in the winter. If I get overheated, though, it messes up my sinuses and I take them off.
JZ - perpetually cold, frequently huddled next to the heater and yet...doesn't wear socks even when padding around the apartment shivering. Socks make you warmer, honey! Wear them!
Emmett - wears socks to bed and immediately kicks them off where they fall behind the bed and we are always wondering where all his new socks have gone.
Matilda - takes her socks off at every opportunity, most annoyingly in her car seat. There is a 75% chance that I will have to put both her socks and shoes on again when we get to our destination. Though she is a lean child she doesn't much seem affected by the cold and will even take her socks off to run barefoot through the grass at Kezar Stadium when it's quite wet and chilly.
My friend Alison - cannot sleep without her bare feet poking out of the bottom of her bed covers. Will only wear socks if it's extremely cold, but them will still poke them out of the bottom of the covers.
I cant' sleep if my feet are cold, but I am frequently overheated in the middle of the night and must throw off my covers or kick a leg out to "equalize my temperature" right now, the heat is off in my condo, and I sleep with the window open or I get too hot.
I used to have the most overheated apartment in Montreal. No matter the depths of winter, it was always T-shirt weather inside. Most people toughed it out, but whenever Colin was over there was usually a pile of his clothes at the front door and he was basically in skivvies. I'd keep windows open and it was still warm. I had no heating control.
I came to miss that when it was time for me to pay for my own heat. I could get very warm, but not stuffy.
I can't properly achieve that now, here, except at the perfect outdoor temperature.

Aiee. I blanch at the thought.
