They seem pricey for wellies, but I suppose that's the shearling part of it.

The thought was I would change at work, yes. I have no idea what I need! Maybe I will continue to wait and see. I looked at Lord and Taylor the other day, and the only leather ones that seemed like they had appropriate traction were $250. I guess I won't really be walking through snow, right? I mean, people clear the sidewalks here....
I wish these would fit around my calves! [link]

You sound like you're doing a lot of walking. There's walking before the snow gets cleared, on packed snow, through the drifts--there are all sorts of places traction is good.. Then there's mushy and icy to consider.
13 inch calf? Dude, I am ms. skinny legs, and I'm 14+.
Jesse, I like these quite a bit: [link]
If you're walking through slush and cold puddles, I'd go for the Wellies. Love them, Jesse.
Kat and flea, both of those look slick on the bottom -- I think ice and slippery is my real worry. And I'm imagining getting the one job I interviewed for (cart, horse, I know), which would mean walking up and down a decent hill, including a bridge.
I feel like I need snow boots.
I bought mine at 6pm.com.
