After a couple of weeks of trying baking soda/vinegar and plunging on my slow-draining bathtub, I finally broke down and got out a old bottle of Liquid Plumber which promptly seems to have made the clog worse. So much for better living through chemistry.
If you have a garden hose you can use this kind of device

will unclog almost anything. You need to make sure you don't shoot water out of some other drain though.
according to my super, liquid plumber will destroy old pipes like in my building.
I wonder how true that really is. I don't know.
yeah, I wonder too, BUT pipes do burst in here and they only get replaced when they do burst/get a hole what have you. No preventive building replacements going on.
Someone gave me this link and now I have that song stuck in my head.

It's a very cute video of "Poker Face". I've never heard the actual version, or seen the actual video, but it can't be better than this.
All the plumbing in my little house is in this one area...and none of the drains are particularly speedy draining at the best of times. I fear that it's actually the main drains that are bad and that some big plumbing work is in my future. Everytime I think about redoing my kitchen...I mentally add redoing all the plumbing to the bill.
Seriously, if you've got some people who can come over and hold some plugs on all the drains, one of those gadgets might do the trick, they can blast out pretty serious clogs.
I think the Liquid Plumber is supposed to be corrosive to cast iron, which my big pipes are made of, which is why I try to avoid using it.
Announcement: TJ's Italian truffle cheese is very good.
YES! We have some for tomorrow. But also, we've been eating it at school.
How did the vampire Angel fights get into the Summers house in Halloween?
Maybe it was a kid who wore a vampire costume from some media that contradicted the invitation rule, like Interview with the Vampire?
