The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Announcement: Trader Joe's has dark chocolate-covered caramels with sea salt. (They're with all the Christmas-themed sweet goodies.)

Analysis: I think I just had a religious experience.

I have a box of these at home that I am saving, for some odd reason. SO GOOD.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

The mall was packed today. Personally I am avoiding all shopping (except for food which I stupidly have to do tomorrow) until at least January.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I'm planning on doing all of my shopping online, and having it delivered to my sister's place (where I'm spending Christmas). I don't much care for shopping, except in bookstores, at the best of times. The period from Thanksgiving through New Years is not the best of times.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I just have to go to Best Buy for a cable, so that shouldn't be too bad. I hope. And it's half-way to what's supposedly the best burger near-by, so then I'll go there. Because I need to stock up on fat before Thanksgiving....

Because books.

I love to Christmas shop in December. I think it's being deadline-oriented. I can't get into it before Thanksgiving. And the crowds just push me to get in, get what I need, and get out.

No shopping on Black Friday, though, because that's just craziness, right there.

Wow, do I really need to pay $40 to hook my free printer to my computer? That would explain why I haven't done this before.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I have to buy pie. I hope there's pie and the getting of doesn't kill me.

Coding and Sleeping

$40 for a USB cable (I'm assuming that's what it must be)? That's criminal.

Can you wait a couple of days?

Further Analysis: I live WAY too far away from a TJ's.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

The mall was packed today.

TJs was nutty today. However, I'm glad I went today, because tomorrow is going to be even worse.

Personally I am avoiding all shopping (except for food which I stupidly have to do tomorrow) until at least January.

All online for me. I've been doing that since before online was widely accepted for commerce (i.e., I bought stuff from catalogs). It makes the Christmas season actually enjoyable.
