Look, you got a little stabbed the other day. That's bound to make anyone a mite ornery.

I can't figure out what we should do in Afghanistan

You fell victim to one of the classic blunders - The most famous of which is "never get involved in a land war in Asia"

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I had to see if the Kirk/Uhura kiss was included. (It is.)

That post needed captions. I'm behind the times, and I didn't know who a third of those people were, or why their kisses were noteworthy.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

Most of them were spoofs of the Madonna kiss.

Wasn't one of the Madonna kisses a spoof of the Madonna kiss?

Hivemind question: Do other people have sporadic periods where their metabolism seems to go into hyperdrive? I am in one of these weird phases I get every few months where I am OMG hungry unless I am actually eating, but can still lose weight as long as I stay somewhere in the neighborhood of eating carefully (almost a pound and a half since Sunday, and I've been a couple of points over my WW daily points and had dessert both days.)

I think the Christina A. one was.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

No, the Britney Spears and Christina kisses were both during the same performance.

I thought it was a response to the Britney one though.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Do other people have sporadic periods where their metabolism seems to go into hyperdrive?

I know it's kind of obvious, but are you getting more exercise or more sleep than usual?

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Do other people have sporadic periods where their metabolism seems to go into hyperdrive?

Yes. Along with exercise and lack of sleep, I've found that certain weather patterns/seasons can do this. In the spring I think I could eat a bushel of strawberries covered in 10 gallons of whipped cream, and not gain an ounce. Sure, I'm a bit more active, but the combination of extended daylight and sheer joy of life seems to also burn calories.
