I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Aw, Carl Kasell is leaving NPR's newscasts (but staying on Wait Wait).

On the other hand, listening to Carl imitate Sarah Palin on this week's WWDTM is a little...ew.

You know, on the best of days my motivation to get work done is very small. Discovering that somehow all the work I did on Friday didn't get saved, and that there's no backup completely kills any motivation I have.

Also, there was an email form our big, big, big boss (as in elected official) this morning inviting us to come to a meeting this afternoon where he will deliver a "personal message." There will be a webcast for those who can't make it. And it was sent employees at all the departments he presides over. People are going bananas trying to figure it out...are we all fired? Is everyone getting a car? Will there be cake?

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Guys, please post more today. I haven't gotten a single email at work and am so bored I'm reading comments on Salon articles. I beg you. Save me from myself.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

A mass email got sent out Friday afternoon saying that all week this week is casual dress week. But not everyone is in jeans. And when I check the recipient list, neither of the guys who sit by me are on it. I wonder if they think I lost my nut.

Sue, I hope there's cake. There should always be cake.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Guys, please post more today.

I'm trying to fix broken stuff for one client, so I can then fix broken stuff for another client.
