So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Cass isn't a NASCAR fan. She tolerates it. She likes the other car vroom races.

I've had that happen to my cats.

ION, I'm freaking out a bit. Checked my bank account to update my register and my last paycheck was significantly larger than before. Like just under $500 more. I'm terrified they screwed something up in open enrollment and unenrolled me or something. Or they messed up my MAP withholdings. And the fucking company website no longer works with safari or IE on a mac. So I can't check my goddamn paystub!

Just what I need before leaving on vacation!

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

Sara, could it be social security withholding? It stops after you make a certain amount for the year.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

And thanks to the lovely Burrell I'm home out of the zooming and the busybess,

I really have no clue. Possibly? Again, can't see the paystub to check! God, I hate my company sometimes.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

This may not help much, but for my company, even though we just had open enrollment, any changes made would start January 1, not now, and I thought that was true for most companies.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

True for mine, too. sarameg, that's a big increase; could it be something nice like a bonus?

Punishingly Intricate

I was just called at home about a work issue. On a Sunday! Management, being in it, sucks!

Issue was resolved with a quick phonecall still it's unprecedented!

Yeah, I'm especially hinky because there were some shenanigans that really fucked up some employees benefits this year. And even if I dropped my retirement contributions completely, it wouldn't be $435. Hopefully will be able to access it at some point this week.

eta: my boss would have told me if it was a bonus. And those are rare and usually done with much fanfare. I did get 2 awards, but as far as I'm aware, they have no monetary value.

hip deep in pie

Sara, have you had any raises lately? That happened to me once and there had a raise due in October that wasn't processed until January, so it was a lump sum of backpay.
