Because books.

It's the Carrie (Bradshaw) necklace for social networkers.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

I ran across my old silver "stephanie" necklace a while back. I've owned that thing for 30 years. (safety not as much of an issue on a military base)

Oh my! Jessica, have you seen the Mad Men clip on Sesame Street? [link] holey moley. I'm kinda loving the new sesame street season, except for Abby's Fairy School which I am just OVER already.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Jessica, have you seen the Mad Men clip on Sesame Street?

Yes - loved it!

D is sort of over Sesame Street, so we haven't watched it in a while. It's all-Dinosaur-Train-all-the-time at our house these days.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

That was awesome! And teaching kids the word sycophant can't be a bad thing.

The new sensation at our house is Phineas and Ferb

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

It kills me that Dylan and Mac are both so into Dinosaur train.

We are getting to an exciting place in our house, mac is easing oh so very close to self-soothing enough to get to sleep alone. very vey close....just in time for a Grandparent visit and Holiday to throw things off. At least Grandparents will not be staying with us, so I should be able to keep the routine the same, I will just have to work to make sure all activites are done and we are home by 7pm.

I'm guessing Mac gets more out of it - Dylan mostly just parrots the show word for word when you ask him about the different dinosaurs. And the fantasy elements of the show (i.e., that dinosaurs had a time-traveling train) are COMPLETELY over his head.

Librarian Warlord

From way back:

Sparky was it Sambucol? Elderberry extract?

Elderberry is listed as the first ingredient on the website (no amount in the recommended dose is listed). There is a recommended dosage for children listed on the website. The NIH, however, says, "There is not enough scientific information available to recommend the safe use of elder in children. Toxicity has been reported, and caution is recommended." So I take issue with his website claiming that his stuff has been "tested" and is "100% safe and effective."

Especially as he just posted a free-shipping special to the parents' listserv.

I saw this pop up on my Google technology news.

Modern Warfare 2 tops entertainment industry, not just games

$550 million in five days, beating any entertainment release of any kind. I knew video games were big business these days, but I didn't know they were that big. Not my kind of game, though.
