the passive-agressive approach but it might be worthwhile (or at least satisfying) here.

I'd love to needle them, but see above re trying to find more work for the nanny. I care about her livelihood more than trying to prove people wrong on the Internet at this point, so I don't want to be the one to fan the flames.

I just feel so betrayed by Darwin. I thought the stupid people were supposed to be culled from the herd by now.

::sigh::

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

It's our giant pattern-seeking brains that are the problem. Makes it easier to see conspiracies everywhere.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

It seems to me that while as a society we're a bit more likely to Question Authority, we haven't yet figured out that it's also really useful to Question the Authority-Questioners.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Okay, I'm going to need you people to talk more, because otherwise I go read things that are bad for me.

I'm going to make this for Thanksgiving. Can it be now please?

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I have Thursday and Friday off next week, and for the first time ever, we're not traveling for Thanksgiving.

I hate travelling on T-Day, but maybe it's because I'll be condemned to the most terrible long drive with numerous traffic jams between here and NJ, or else hideous air travel fuckups.

Seriously, Dana -- you don't want me to start going on about the stupidity of the furor over OMG911WTCNYC including Giulani popping up to talk about how it's unprecedented and a terrible security risk. Because I have to physically stop myself from going to NY and literally start punching him, and all the other talking heads.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Right. I have next Thursday off. I really need to get used to not being salaried. On the whole, I don't like it.
