Well, a gathering is brie, mellow song stylings; shindig, dip, less mellow song stylings, perhaps a large amount of malt beverage, and hootenanny, well, it's chock full of hoot, just a little bit of nanny.

"What kind of magical sunshine and lollipop world do you live in? Because you need to be medicated."-SFist

I love pot roast. Apparently my Dad did too, when he was in a fog before or after one of his surgeries, he kept going on about how much he missed my Mom's pot roast, especially "the little carrots."

Pot roast was the first thing I made in my slow cooker. A few meals later, I was asking the housemate what new recipe we should try, he paused and said: "Can't we just have pot roast again?"

megan, that's rather touching.

I'm mostly indifferent myself, but I gotta agree on the little carrots. Sweet savory little bursts.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Pot roast is good food. I should put that on my crockpot list.

I just finished ploughing through the biggest pile of HQ celebrity pictures--and I only paid attention to the men. Now I should go through it again and look for good pictures of the women. It took me weeks to do the guys, and it's mostly chicks. But the quality is amazing. The site's in Russian, and I have no idea what they're talking about or where they get most of these, but SWEET.

why did my DVR decide not to record Castle? I think I hate Comcast.

That's a bitch. I spend probably too much time going through my upcoming recordings and weeding them out, just to make sure, but my TiVo's pretty reliable. The biggest thing it did me wrong recently was waiting until 10 to record White Collar when I really wanted it more than the Criminal Minds repeat at 7. Totes mah fault.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

It decides I didn't really mean it when I tell it what to record! I mean, seriously.

Aw, megan.

Here's what I'm enjoying about the pot roast: I had some sliced, made some into ragu, and made a little stew out of leftovers tonight! And at least four meals still in the freezer.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

Monday has been a Monday all day long. After years of being asthma free, I have had three small incidences within the last week. Including in the middle of karate this evening. Luckily (?) I know the feeling and have my rescue inhaler, but I think I'm going to need to talk daily meds with the doc. At least for the winter. NOT HAPPY.

Not only was Bugs Bunny posing as a lady, he was posing as a whole other species. Elmer Fudd must have really been looking for some sexytimes to believe that Bugs Bunny in drag was a human woman.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

OK, but why did my DVR decide not to record Castle? I think I hate Comcast.

If it's a Scientific Atlanta unit, it's not Comcast, it's the hardware. I eventually traded mine for a Tivo I couldn't really afford, but decided it would be cheaper than spending time in jail after killing everyone who has ever worked for Scientific Atlanta.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

It's not -- it's Motorola. And my Scientific Atlanta one in NYC worked fine. Bastards!

Pioneer Woman's recipe today is braised short ribs, which I've been dying to try for ages. She may have just pushed me over the edge.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Thanks for all the congrats. It's pretty damned awesome. My grandfather suffered with post-Shingles pain the last few years of his life; he's the reason I took this job.

As someone who has also suffered from shingles (apparently, people are getting them younger and younger), I say "YAY!" It fucking HURTS! Now I know what to ask for when and if I ever get them again.
