Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

there was Colin!

Good times indeed. That was one of his first big exposure gigs, and it came with a personal trainer and dietary regimen and everything. Very exciting.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Thanks for the birthday wishes, everyone.

Weekend plans: not much. Chipotle is test-marketing a new vegan "chicken" burrito, and right now they only have it at one location, which happens to be in DC. So I'm probably going to Chipotle for lunch on Sunday.

Thanksgiving stuff: my mom makes tons of lists for Thanksgiving. There is also a schedule, showing who is cooking what and when. And she puts all the serving platters on the kitchen table ahead of time (we eat at the dining room table) with post-its on each one telling which dish gets served in it, so that even if she's not the one putting the dishes onto the serving platters, they'll still be on the ones she wants.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

That was one of his first big exposure gigs, and it came with a personal trainer and dietary regimen and everything. Very exciting.

Fancy!

OMG, I realize the real reason I keep cooking -- I keep smelling some neighbor cooking, and it smells fantastic. Today I think I'm getting potatoes and bacon.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Happy Birthday, Hil!

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

Happy birthday, Hil!!!

I've got some candy ordered to bring down to dad's for Thanksgiving.

I was just making up my grocery list for this weekend, and I was struck by a sudden craving for cubed steak sandwich (soft butter and garlic on an Italian roll, brown up a cube steak in the frying pan--yummm!), so I'm going tonight instead of waiting until tomorrow morning to head over to the Jewel's.

(Hear that phrase with a Chicago accent; it's how we tend to say our grocery store names, with a "the" before it and a possessive "s" tacked on the end even though it doesn't belong there, also heard when we talk about the Bears stadium, which is supposed to be "Soldier Field," but we always call it "Soldiers' Field.")

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

More random Icelandia: Julianna Rose Mauriello (who plays Stephanie - the pink girl - on Lazy Town) is now 18.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

It must be that it's Fri the 13th.

I think the day must be inherently topsy-turvy rather than bad. I just got quick responses from clients who had previously been a wall of stone regarding feedback and support, and should now be able to get things done in time for my deadline.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

And it looks like the person I wrote the note to above (but not actually to her) is trying to solve for a problem that already has a solution prepped that we should probably give a chance to work before we go changing the homepage.

I have gone down to get a cup of tea, which I am given to understand is soothing.

A friend of mine and her husband feared her laptop had been hacked ....until they found their two year old in the next room banging away at the bluetooth keyboard.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

This means a graphic would need to be created, copy written, creative reviewed, legal reviewed and ready to go by no later than EOD today.

It's like you work in my office! That kind of shit happens every month.
