I don't think I know how to make any of those dating doohickeys work.

This is why I've basically given up on online dating in favor of these things where people just show up in front of you -- speed dating and the like. It's just meeting a new person.

I had no idea they had a turkey flavour drink. EW.

They make special holiday flavors each year for different holidays. I think they usually have a pack of four flavors for each holiday, and there's usually one good one, two that seem kind of weird, and one whose only purpose seems to be for people to dare each other to drink it. The Thanksgiving package has Turkey, Mashed Potatoes, Green Bean Casserole, Cranberry, and Fruitcake, which seems a bit more skewed toward the "ew" than usual. Christmas package is Ham, Christmas Tree, Eggnog, and Sugar Plum, and Chanukah package is Latkes, Apple Sauce, Gelt, and Jelly Donuts.

Neti pot: I usually just use it either when I'm feeling really stuffed up or when I get a nosebleed.

Did I mention that I got jolted out of a sound sleep last night by a new downstairs neighbor switching on loud music for a noisy party that started after midnight? The neighbor behind me went downstairs to ask them to turn it down, got no results, and people were yelling so loud when I followed suit 20 minutes later that their failure to answer the door may have been due to not hearing me pound on it. Two different times.

It seems that a grumpy police officer working the late shift knocks louder than I do when pissed off, however. They got quiet pretty fast once Officer Pipe the Hell Down showed up.

I have to admit, every one of the sodas in the Chanukah package sounds like I would like it.

And then I remember that it's not *actual* latkes; just latke-flavored beverage, which is off-putting.

Is it chocolate-gelt flavor, or money flavor? That would be a key factor.

My speed dating excursion didn't work well. I didn't get any matches. I only randomly meet people I like, it seems. Who like me. And all I can think of when I think back to speed dating is the one guy who said "You look fit" like it was an accusation. For some reason he's the only guy I can remember. Not that any of the others were matches either.

It's not that I've given up, but I think I've given up trying.
