I have the flip side of that, sarameg. I came in early to prepare for a meeting today, only to find that it has been canceled. I could have worked from home today and now I'm all dressed and out in the world and stuff. No fair.

Nah. Not so much. Really. Hockey still makes me @@ eyes. And I have been to more games this year than ever (which would be two). The last time we were at a game I was just interested in how WHITE hockey is.

Now tagless for your comfort.

I love hockey. But I can't stand to watch it on tv. I miss having ECHL season tickets.

Well, not too many brothers hanging out north of the 49° line. The last time I checked, about 2/3 of professional hockey players on American teams were Canadians.

Owen is a good speller, mang. Frances is a funny speller

Leif is a great speller, he's becoming a tough scrabble opponent. I think obsessive playing of Bookworm Adventures really honed his spelling ability.

I really dread the day my kids can beat me at scrabble. Which, at this rate, will be next week.

It's also an expensive game...all that equipment, hockey registrations, and travel tournaments can run into a couple of grand a year, even for a casual player. It also requires a big time commitment for parent's so if not from a culture that appreciates hockey, they may not be so willing to get their kids into it (or they won't push their kids into it).

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Ugh. I don't feel great. I wish I could have stayed home today.

Sorry you're not feeling well, Dana.

ION, I'm following the health care bill situation and I now feel like I have little idea how it will turn out. I don't get the feeling that the runaway costs are going to be reined in by it, but I think it would still be better than nothing.

Kit Bond (my senator) kinda made me go huh? last night on TDS. Medicare costs too much and needs to reimburse at higher rates? The latter might be true, but I don't see how that will help the former. I am also dubious that private plans would work better, I've never heard of private plans having lower overhead than Medicare.

I may have to seize the cat.

I am making muffin-sized quiches. I thought you should know.
