Two hours of karate down. Showered and trying to convince CJ that leaving the apartment would be a good thing. He normally spends the weekends with his dad, but I have had him the last few and will have him the next few. I didn't realize how much I had gotten used to having quiet ME time.

Busy day at the bookstore today, which is a good thing! Last week was pretty steady, too, but today was just constant with people at the register, so much so that we needed two registers going for all four hours of my shift. We did have a school bookfair with a big turnout of parents and teachers, so that brought it even more people.

Now I get to use the magnifying glass (with an LED light in the handle) to try and figure out what colors of floss I have for my cross stitch project, while I also go through my dvr and try and clean the various PBS documentaries off of it.

I found one non-expensive store that delivers to me, and it's one I refuse to shop at in person because it smells bad. I think I'll get my cranky whiny ass out of the house.

Hee. Today is a workday for me so I was still up normal.

Oh & chicken noodle soup from scratch is epic win. I have some almost like that in the freezer but I did not make the noodles. How do you make spatzle? Mmm, spatzle.

I went back to sleep after I got back from Perkins the cat's vet visit. I needed it, but I slept too long, so I am very sleep overload gronked.

Frances just put on a purple ski jacket with a fuzzy hood. She says she's dressed up as Snow Woman but I think she looks like Eskimo!Willow.

Oh, dang, ita. My suggestion was of course, "isn't that what dinner delivery is for, so you don't starve?" but I don't have the dietary demands you do, either.

I'm about to go see "Whip It", which I'm hoping will be awesome. Possible minuses: it's closed-captioned (or is that close-captioned??) and it's a not-date with someone I don't really want to be going out with at all (someone rather persistent. Who I ended up suggesting a movie with on the thought that at least that way we don't have to interact much. And am suggesting via text to various friends that they join us, right now). Ergh.

Making the spaetzle from scratch is almost easier than using noodles. A couple of eggs and a sploosh of water, salt and flour so you have a sticky dough. Then you dump it in a collander and use a spoon to press it out through the holes into the bubbling soup.

I've never made it from scratch before, but I will never pay four something for a box of it again.

You guys! I have a sofa! In my apartment! My friend took me to Ikea, and I was all ready to buy a $500 loveseat and spend $100 to have it delivered tomorrow or Monday, when at the very end, we checked the as-is room. There was a different loveseat in there, that I had also liked (if not quite as much), but this one was half off! $219! But then it turned out that they don't deliver as-is furniture, but then! It turned out that it fit inside my friend's truck! So I called my parents and they came over, and among us, we got the sofa up to my 4th floor apartment! YAY! So much money saved. And I have it right now!

Wait, how come I'm not sitting on it?

YAY for new loveseats! Esp. bargain love seats!

My mother gave us a lovely, lovely, pre-housewarming gift today, buying us the new stoneware we wanted. [link]

Really, we should have waited until we moved, but I didn't want to risk missing out on the sale, seeing as it saved over $200 (She bought us 4 sets/16 place settings)
