Jesse, for whatever it is or isn't worth, I'm a firm believer in the weekend as time off unless absolutely necessary.
Natter 64: Yes, we still need you
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
We have IM, but I, too, keep forgetting to turn it on. Although I generally remember when I'm working from home. I don't do much with it, but it is sort of an "at my desk" signal for the days when my desk is a couch in my living room.
I am generally in that camp, but whenever I've worked from home on a Friday, I have enjoyed doing a couple of hours on Friday and a couple on Sunday, and calling it good. (How much would I really be getting done in the office today? Not much.)
One Semester of Spanish Love Song. The best part about this is, I have never taken any Spanish and yet still understood every single thing he said. [link]
The picture at this blog post is so pretty!
A bunch more pretty pictures of Mars: [link] The first one is so weird it looks fake:
Intersecting swirling trails left by the earlier passage of dust devils across sand dunes, as they lifted lighter reddish-pink dust and exposed the darker material below. Also visible are darker slope streaks along dune edges, formed by a process which is still under investigation.
Now I wanna visit Mars....

Give my regards to John Carter.
douchebags in Yankees shirts
Isn't that redundant?
Yeah, wrod. You should hear them and their friends whine like toddlers for a month solid before and after anyone else wins a series.
[Edit: for the sake of clarity, this should have a sarcastic font]
I just set up a consultation appointment with the bariatric surgeon for the 19th, and I'm also going to an informational drop-in/support group meeting next Wednesday. My doctor told me yesterday that she'd be surprised if I had the surgery before the end of January, however, due to the level of appointments/tests/etc. that have to be done beforehand. If I do get accepted to the MLS program, I'll have to schedule the surgery around my class (laproscopic surgery means I could have a class on, say, Wednesday, surgery on Thursday, and still go to class the next Wednesday).
