I will say that the tipping a penny thing probably doesn't work the way it's intended. Certainly I and most people I knew would react to that, fair or not, by instantly writing you off as an asshole who was looking to cheap out from the get-go. (Um, that's a general you.) OTOH, a 10 or 12% tip is much more likely to be interpreted as a sign of unhappiness.
I figure a 1¢ tip is more likely than a 10% tip to piss off the recipient, which is my primary goal by the time things get bad enough for me to leave a tip that small.
Apparently, the shooter is still alive; shot several times but in stable condition.
Okay, I'm going to try to watch TV and think about something else.
NY Times is now saying the shooting suspect isn't dead, he was injured and he's in custody. [link]
I have a sausage mushroom polenta faux-lasagna thing in the oven. God, I'm hungry. I hope it comes out well.
That chicken pad thai talk the other day got to me and I ordered delivery. Curse you all.
I had Thai delivered also. Got Chicken Pineapple Curry. NOM! And I ordered a Thai iced tea - OMG, came in a huge bucket.
I met my folks for Turkey & Dressing at Dixie Cafe. They've got the good stuff—real roast turkey instead of slices off a deli loaf.
Now I want pineapple curry. But duck. I am so hungry. I'm trying to watch the new season of Spooks, but I can't concentrate.
Ohhhh, duck sounds good. Our place doesn't offer duck.
Now I'm depressed that the one semi-local place that made a fantastic duck saltimbocca doesn't anymore.
